DAILY SITTING PRACTICE: EXPLORING THE CREATIVE FIELD BETWEEN US
Format: 45-Minute Morning Sitting Sessions
Description: The forty-minute meditation session led by Polly and Robert will provide a direct experience of the following:
The relationship between meditation practice and poetic expressions.
The specific conditions of the Sitting Lab practice experience: including stepping back, turning inward, shared stillness and attention, embodied presence, and collective resonance.
The quality of perception that arises when the nervous system is settled, open, and receptive.
How meditation can be seen as a creative act and how sitting together can create conditions for more attuned and meaningful communication.
All participants will briefly experience sitting quietly together and co-create a group poem. After a moment of guided, embodied stillness, they will share brief reflections and participate in the echo-back process. As we witness the emergence of a collective poem from the group's shared experience, we will feel what the historical accounts describe: that stillness, when shared, generates language of unusual depth, meaning, and beauty.
