Tuesday, June 20 –  Arrive in Vancouver. Welcome to Vancouver, a vibrant metropolitan city nestled between majestic mountains, sparkling ocean, rainforests and beautiful foliage. Vancouver is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Upon arrival this afternoon, transfer on your own to your downtown to our luxury accommodations at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel. We will have our welcome dinner this evening.

Wednesday, June 21 – Meeting & Vancouver City Touring
Breakfasts are included throughout the entire conference.
Morning Conference from 8:30 am – 12:00 pm
This afternoon we will explore the city on a sightseeing tour including Stanley Park, English Bay, Gastown, Granville Island, Robson Street and more. Sure to be a highlight of our day, we will take the 40-second glass elevator ride, 553 feet skyward to a panoramic observation deck featuring a 360 degree view high above Vancouver in the Lookout Tower. ay tour is optional and is quoted separately.

Thursday, June 22 – North Vancouver Tour Today we will discover the highlights of North Vancouver. Visit Capilano Suspension Bridge and walk among the towering trees on this temperate rain forest. Walk across the world’s longest foot suspension bridge, climb to the canopy and stroll through the “Treetops Adventure” walkway. Part of Capilano’s captivating story involves the tradition of placing totem poles on the grounds at the Park. Get a glimpse into the lives of British Columbia’s First Nations people at Kai’palano, where the historical connection between First Nations culture and the natural world is highlighted. Later today visit Vancouver’s Peak Attraction and ultimate Alpine Experience with lunch on top of Grouse Mountain plus time to check out the Grizzly Bears in the Refuge for Endangered Wildlif

Friday, June 23 – Full Day Victoria & Butchart Gardens Tour
Board our comfortable BC Ferry for a 90 minute cruise through the Gulf Islands. Arrive on Vancouver Island and travel through the Saanich Peninsula before arriving in the beautiful city of Victoria. Often referred to as “a bit of Olde England”, Victoria is known for its majestic Parliament Buildings, iconic Empress Hotel, BC Museum and wonderful shops and galleries. A city tour will introduce you to the best of it all! Some leisure time will be provided in Victoria for lunch. Later today you can “smell the roses” of Butchart Gardens, one of the most beautiful garden areas in North America. This 150 acre display of floral beauty is not to be missed. Return to Vancouver by BC Ferry and transfer to your hotel.

Saturday, June 24 –  Sea to Sky History & Cultural Tour Today we will travel along the scenic drive along the Sea to Sky Highway. Marvel at the beautiful mountain scenery as we follow the winding road to Whistler. The first stop will be at the Britannia Mine Museum, once the largest copper mine in the British Empire. Board a mine train and experience a day in the life of a hard rock miner with a guided underground tour. Continue to the Sea to Sky Gondola and take in the sweeping views of Howe Sound Fjord, the majestic coastal forest and surrounding mountains. Don’t miss an inch of scenery with the custom designed floor to ceiling glass windows for maximum sightseeing. The ride itself will be a thrilling adventure and will provide views of Shannon Falls and the famous Squamish Chief climbing area. Once at the top, follow along the interpretive walking trails with cantilevered viewing platforms and walk across the spectacular Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge. Lunch is included at the top. After lunch, visit the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre, showcasing the art and heritage of the Squamish and Lil’wat Aboriginal people. This amazing facility features traditional drumming performances, a guided tour through the museum and galleries, a captivating short film and so much more!

Sunday, June 25 – Depart Vancouver, continue to Lake Louise
A transfer is provided to the Vancouver International Airport for your flight to Calgary and the start of our Rocky Mountain adventure. Once in Calgary, transfer to Lake Louise, “Jewel of the Canadian Rockies” and our home for the next two nights.

Monday, June 26 – Lake Louise & Yoho Touring Start the morning with a trip to the remarkable Moraine Lake and the Valley of the Ten Peaks for incredible photo opportunities and a true experience in nature. This afternoon cross the Continental Divide into Yoho National Park with time to visit Takakkaw Falls, Natural Bridge and Emerald Lake, complete with a lunch, which is included, at the lodge before returning to Lake Louise.

Tuesday, June 27 – Lake Louise to Banff   Travel along the famous Bow Valley Parkway where wildlife sightings are common – Keep your camera close by! Visit Johnston Canyon for an easy walk through a deep rugged canyon littered with waterfalls. See Castle Mountain and learn how this local landmark got its name. Arrive in Banff and check into your upscale accommodations. Once in Banff, embark on a sightseeing tour to introduce you to this famous, beautiful town and its landmarks and historical places. Highlights include Surprise Corner and Hoodoos lookout along Tunnel Mountain Drive, Bow Falls, and Lake Minnewanka complete with a scenic boat cruise. Top off the day with Banff’s peak attraction, a ride on the Sulphur Mountain Gondola to take in the breathtaking views of the entire Bow Valley and surrounding mountain peaks. Spend as much time as you like at the top and return to our hotel at leisure, also a convenient, short five minute walk away.

Thursday, June 29 – Columbia Icefields Discovery Tour Traveling through the heart of the Canadian Rockies, drive along the famous Icefields Parkway which has been voted one of the most scenic and spectacular drives in the world. Follow the winding road that boasts unique and irreplaceable landscape rich in history and natural beauty second to none. At the summit of Bow Pass see the beautiful baby blue waters of Peyto Lake (or possibly even snow covered!) and the Mistaya River Valley below. Access to this viewpoint is seasonal and subject to road closures. Arrive at the famous Columbia Icefields whose waters feed three oceans. After lunch, which is included,  visit the Interpretive Centre then have the experience of a lifetime, a ride on the Ice Explorer for an up close look at the Athabasca Glacier. Also included is admission to the newest attraction in the Canadian Rockies, the Glacier Ice Walk. Walk on the glass-viewing deck for an incredible view of the Sunwapta Valley Below.

Friday, June 30 – Banff Meeting & Special Finale Dinner
Morning Conference 8:30 am – 12:00 pm today
Afternoon at leisure.

Our farewell dinner will be at Wild Bill’s Legendary Saloon for an evening of great food and lots of laughter. Wild Bill’s has something for everyone, Offering the best BBQ in Banff, “down-home” country hospitality and regular live entertainment. Enjoy live music by a local country and western band and take to the dance floor for a fun and casual line dancing lesson that will be a  guaranteed good time!

Or at “Cowboy Cookout” where we can go by horseback or covered horse-drawn wagon ride for an outdoor BBQ.

Saturday, July 1 – Depart Banff & Return home A transfer is provided to the Calgary International Airport for your return flight home.

AIMED: The Creativity and Madness Conferences

Aimed, The American Institute for Medical Education, was founded in 1982 to provide the best quality and most interesting continuing education possible to physicians, social workers, nurses, psychologists, marriage and family therapists.

We welcome everyone who is interested in the psychology of artists and the creative process and Women of Resilience to register and attend. Our speakers do not use psychoanalytic or psychological jargon. They present the concepts and theories in a manner that is comprehensive and readily understood by the intelligent lay person as well as the professional.

We have held over 120 conferences throughout the world—in Santa Fe, San Francisco, New York, Hawaii, all of the major cities in Europe, as well as in South America, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, Bali, and China. We currently plan 4 or 5 conferences a year. MDs, PhDs, Social Workers, MFTs, and others obtain continuing education hours by attending our conferences.
